The popularity of alternative dispute resolution of commercial and other disputes, such as arbitration and mediation is growing throughout the world nowadays. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan can proudly announce that after passing of the Courts of Arbitration Act of Uzbekistan in October 16th, 2006 it was the first organization to establish courts of arbitration.

The Court of Arbitration under the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan was established in January 12th, 2007, and is one of the most reliable courts of Uzbekistan in alternative dispute resolution at present.

With aim of increasing the efficiency of arbitration and other alternative dispute resolution methods, as well as to create the opportunity of their utilization by wider range of businessmen, the Arbitration Development Center was established within the structure of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan in May 2008.

Model Arbitration Clause
All disputes, disagreements, and claims related to draft of this contract, amending its terms, breaches, execution, abrogation, termination, and validity thereof shall be subject to the discretion of the single arbitrator of the arbitration court under the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan in accordance with its regulation. Ruling by the arbitration court shall be final and mandatory for the Parties.

The Arbitration Courts Act of Uzbekistan was passed on August 26, 2006, and took effect on January 1, 2007, with the main purpose of regulating the establishment and operation of arbitration courts in Uzbekistan. For implementation of the Acts on Arbitration Courts and Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, and for creation of favorable climate for further development of entrepreneurship and to enhance legal support for the entrepreneurs, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan has established arbitration courts in all regions nationwide, and they handled more than 700 cases in the first year of operation.
