  1. True in my opinion: deal making for the sake of deal making makes little or no sense at all. However, if a party does its homework and the other doesn’t, the deal stands a poor chance of lasting over time, which raises an issue: negotiating with unskilled counterparts, being tempted to extract what would likely be an ephemeral agreement.
